CLMA SIOUXLAND BOARD MEETING
September 6, 2007
CALL TO ORDER
The Siouxland Chapter Board Meeting of CLMA was called to order by president, Kathy Winters, at 1:05 PM at the Steven’s Center Conference Room in Sioux Falls, S.D. Board Members present included Mike Dott, DeeAnn Lovett, and Owen Bain. Members absent were John Kangas and Rick Pudwill.
MINUTES
Minutes were approved from the April 24, 2007 Board Meeting. The motion was made by Owen Bain and seconded by Mike Dott.
TREASURER’S REPORT
John had e-mailed a copy of the latest treasurer report. Kathy noted that CLMA Siouxland Chapter had not yet received the payment from ASCLS for our portion of the ASCLS/CLMA Spring Meeting. Kathy contacted Lori Murray. Lori relayed that the person responsible was affected by the flood after the May Meeting. The Siouxland Chapter would be receiving $1,819.67.
OLD BUSINESS
SHAHO/Smart Lab/Best Practice
The Smart Lab will be held Thursday of the SDAHO Convention. It will start in the morning at 8:30 and end at 12:00 Noon. There are 12 registrants so far. Owen thought he could get a” List Serve” for the ASCLS Members. He will e-mail that to Kathy. The CLMA Siouxland Chapter Meeting will take place Thursday afternoon at 4:15 to 5:15. Kathy said that Lea Owen’s last day at National CLMA was September 4, 2007. DeeAnn will call National to confirm that the display booth for the SDAHO Convention and the Region V Convention is still reserved for the Siouxland Chapter.
Membership Statistics
Our current membership is 41 members. Robert Jensen from Watertown is the newest member.
Spring 2008 One Day Spring Meeting
.The date that was set at the Spring Chapter Meeting is March 26, 2008. The committee consisting of Kari Nornes, Twila Henning, Kathy Winter, and DeeAnn Lovett (so far), will assist Rick Pudwill, who is in charge of education.
2008 ASCLS/CLMA Joint Meeting
Rick was not present, so there was no discussion regarding this meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
CLMA Booth at SDAHO
The Exhibitor time at the convention is from 4:00PM to 6:00PM Wednesday, September 19, 2007. Mike Dott said that he has one of the Logo tablecloths. Kathy has the second one. There was a question as to who had the brochures and Siouxland Chapter material. Rick possibly has these.
PSA’s at the State Fair
Owen Bain said that a total of 602 PSA’s were drawn at the 2007 South Dakota State Fair. This is the highest yearly total that has ever been drawn.
Election of Officers
Kathy asked the members present to be thinking of future nominations for Board Member and Secretary. Mike has served 2 terms as Board Member and DeeAnn has served 1 term as secretary.
Location and Time of December Board Meeting
The last Board Meeting will be held December 5, 2007 at the Sioux Falls City Lab.
Presentation of Advocacy by Terry Erickson
Terry’s presentation was given after the Board Meeting and Town Hall Series Audio Conference on Competitive Bidding.

The meeting was adjourned at ~ 1:50 PM.
